Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and Amol Parab (“we”, “us”), who operates Bhagya for ChatGPT, this website, and Bhagya memberships and report packs (together, the “service”). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data; it isn’t part of these terms.
Please read sections 13 to 17. They limit what you can claim from us and, if you live in the United States, require most disputes to be resolved individually by arbitration instead of in court or as part of a class action.
1. Who can use Bhagya
You must be at least 13 years old to use the free features. You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to buy a membership or report pack, to use Kundli matching or couple readings, and to accept these terms yourself. If you are 13 to 17, you may use the free features only if a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you.
2. What Bhagya is, and what it isn’t
Bhagya computes Vedic astrology charts and readings, including Kundli matching, from the birth details you provide, following traditional principles. Astrology is a traditional, interpretive practice, not a science, and it isn’t a proven way to predict events or to describe people. Readings are produced automatically by software, without review by a human astrologer, and are offered for reflection, cultural interest and entertainment.
Readings are not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, career, marital or other professional advice. Don’t rely on them to make decisions about your health or treatment, money, legal matters or work, or about whether to marry or stay in a relationship, and never delay or change medical care because of a reading. A matching score is never a verdict on a relationship. You are responsible for the decisions you make; talk to a qualified professional and the people involved. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
3. Answers in ChatGPT
Bhagya runs inside ChatGPT, which OpenAI operates under its own terms. Bhagya supplies chart data and reading text; ChatGPT decides how to present them and may summarize, reword, leave out or add material that didn’t come from Bhagya, and it can make mistakes. We are not responsible for ChatGPT’s own responses or for OpenAI’s services. Check anything important in the Bhagya panel or results.
4. Accuracy
Readings depend on the birth details you give. Unknown or approximate birth times, or uncertain places, can change the ascendant, houses, dasha dates and matching scores; Bhagya flags these cases but can’t remove the uncertainty. Calculations use astronomical models and traditional conventions that astrologers apply differently, so results may differ from other astrologers or software, and they may contain errors. We don’t guarantee that any calculation or reading is accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose.
5. Information about other people
Enter another person’s birth details or name only if you have their permission, or are their parent or guardian. Never use Bhagya to harass, pressure, embarrass or discriminate against anyone, or to make claims about them. You are responsible for the information you provide.
6. Acceptable use
Use the service only lawfully and for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don’t try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer it; don’t scrape it or access it by automated means other than through ChatGPT; don’t resell or redistribute readings or access; and don’t share, sell or publish keys.
7. Memberships, report packs and payment
- What each plan includes, its price, billing period and any free trial are shown on our website and at checkout before you pay; that information and your receipt form part of these terms. Taxes may apply.
- Purchases are sold by Gumroad as merchant of record (Gumroad purchases) or by Amol Parab, with payments processed by Stripe (purchases on our website), and the seller’s checkout terms also apply.
- Memberships renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your Gumroad receipt or our billing page; canceling stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the period you paid for. If a membership starts with a free trial, it becomes a paid membership when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Reports included with a monthly allowance reset at the start of each calendar month; unused ones don’t carry over.
- We may change prices. We will tell you before a price increase applies to your membership; it takes effect from your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then. Where the law requires it, we will also remind you before a yearly membership renews.
- Report packs open full reports for new pairs, and unused pack reports don’t expire. Free and included allowances may change going forward, but the basic matching score stays free and reports you have already opened stay open.
- Your key is for you and, with Bhagya Family, the people in your household. Keep it private and don’t share it beyond them or resell it; anyone who has your key can use your purchase. We may disable keys that have been shared, resold, refunded or charged back.
8. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable except as described here or where the law requires a refund. If you were charged twice, or your key never worked and we can’t fix it, we will refund that charge when you contact us within 14 days of it. Other refund requests are at our discretion. Gumroad purchases are also covered by Gumroad’s refund terms. Refunded or charged-back purchases lose their access. This section doesn’t affect consumer rights you have that can’t be waived.
9. Remedies, sellers and affiliate links
Remedies are traditional practices offered for reflection. They are optional, none is required, and none is guaranteed to bring any result. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological or other professional care: ask a doctor before fasting, changing your diet, or using anything that touches or enters your body, especially if you are pregnant or nursing, have a medical condition or take medication. Consider gemstones only after a qualified jyotishi has reviewed your chart.
Our remedies page links to independent sellers. We don’t make, sell, inspect or guarantee their products, and we aren’t responsible for their quality, safety, authenticity, description, price, delivery or returns; any purchase is between you and the seller, under their terms. Some links may be affiliate links that earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, and they are labeled.
10. Other services
The service relies on others, including OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google Cloud, Gumroad and Stripe. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we aren’t responsible for their availability, content or conduct.
11. Ownership and license
Bhagya’s software, texts and designs belong to us. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the service under these terms, and you may keep and share your readings for personal, non-commercial use. If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely and without any obligation to you. Place data © GeoNames, used under CC BY 4.0.
12. Changes, suspension and ending
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service, including features and allowances, at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or disable a key, if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms or misused the service; in that case no refund is due unless the law requires one. If we stop offering the service, memberships will stop renewing, and we will refund unused report-pack reports and unused prepaid membership time. You may stop using Bhagya at any time.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The service, all readings and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any reading or remedy will have any particular result.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages; for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill; for emotional distress; or for losses arising from decisions that you or others make based on the service, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty US dollars. These limits apply to every theory of liability, including contract, tort (including negligence) and statute, even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.
Some places don’t allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law where you live allows. For example, if you live in the UK or the EU, nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will reimburse our losses from claims by other people that are caused by your misuse of the service or by details of another person that you provided without their permission.
16. Disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with us, email amoluparab@gmail.com with a short description and what you would like us to do. You and we will each try in good faith to resolve it informally for 60 days before starting any formal proceeding.
Individual arbitration (if you live in the United States). If it isn’t resolved, you and we agree that any dispute arising from or relating to the service or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. Hearings may take place by video or phone, or in King County, Washington, USA, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may ask a court to stop the infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
No class actions or jury trials. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated or representative proceeding, and you and we waive any right to a jury trial. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim will be decided by a court, not in arbitration.
Opting out. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days after you first accept these terms by emailing amoluparab@gmail.com with your name and the words “arbitration opt-out”.
If you live outside the United States, the arbitration, class-action and jury-trial provisions in this section don’t apply to you.
17. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that isn’t arbitrated will be heard in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, USA, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may use a small claims court where you live, and consumers whose local law gives them the right to sue in their home courts (for example in the EU or the UK) keep that right. If you live outside the US, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of your country.
18. General
These terms, together with the checkout information for your purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a term, we haven’t waived it. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them, for example to a company we form or to a successor to the service. We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Sections that by their nature should survive the end of these terms, including sections 8 and 13 to 18, will survive.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date; changes take effect when posted, and changes that materially affect a paid membership take effect from your next renewal. Changes to section 16 don’t apply to disputes that arose before the change. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
